Diabetes Education and Research Associate, Leicester Diabetes Centre
Vicki has been a Diabetes Specialist Nurse (DSN) for 16 years with experience in secondary care, inpatient diabetes and primary care. She recently joined the EDEN team at Leicester Diabetes Centre in June 2021 where a large part of her role is to support and educate health care professionals to improve diabetes care both locally and nationally. Vicki qualified as a nurse in 2002 before starting her diabetes nursing journey in 2005 in and has worked in both the Midlands and the North West. Vicki is currently in year 2 of her MSc in Diabetes Practice at the University of Swansea and is part of DSN Forum UK management team. In March 2020 she also joined the Diabetes 101 twitter team, which was set up in response to the Covid-19 pandemic to help and support people living with diabetes. Vicki is passionate about diabetes care and is always keen to get involved in new and innovative ways to raise awareness and provide education and was lucky enough to win the Diabetes QiC awards in 2020 as Diabetes Professional of the Year.
