Dr Varkha Rattu is on the four-year periodontology postgraduate pathway at King’s College London, Guy’s Hospital. Here she manages complex periodontal patients and has an active role in periodontal research. She was the recipient of two prestigious British Society of Periodontology (BSP) awards – the ‘BSP Audit Award’ for her campaign on ‘Periodontitis and Diabetes’ and ‘BSP Systematic Review Prize’ for her high-quality research. Dr Rattu leads a periodontal referral service in Malvern (Worcester), works as part of a periodontal team on Harley Street (London), and is a thought leader on systemic health and its link to periodontitis and collaborative care.
