Tamsin has worked in the NHS for 13 years and has been a DSN for the last 7 years and works at the Royal Stoke University Hospital part of the University Hospital of North Midlands NHS Trust. Prior to becoming a DSN, Tamsin worked as a critical care nurse for 5 years within the same Trust. Tamsin’s current role involves being team leader for the inpatient DSN team the role encompasses both inpatient and outpatient responsibilities and is very clinical in nature. She is also a non-medical prescriber. Tamsin has a special interest in Type 1 diabetes, diabetes technology, and renal and Tamsin has been instrumental in setting up online support groups using social media for people living with diabetes in the local area. Tamsin is also a director for the DSN Forum UK Ltd and Diabetes 101 and she has been working with both teams during the last 12 months presenting webinars and tweetorials via social media. She is part of the Diabetes 101 team who have won 2 x QIC awards 2021. Tamsin was a speaker at the DPC 2020 where she presented ‘Pumping in a Pandemic’ on how they had maintained their pump service during lockdown, she has also spoken at DPC 2021. Tamsin was also speaker at Decon International Conference 2020. She will also be speaking at Abracadabra 2022 Tamsin is currently in the 3rd year of her MSc and is working on her dissertation in Diabetes with Kings College London. Tamsin’s interest and enthusiasm for diabetes is very personal as she has lived with Type 1 Diabetes for the last 42 years. She was very proud to be nominated and progress to the final in the Diabetes Professional of the year QiC Diabetes awards 2020. Tamsin was a judge for the QIC Diabetes Awards 2021
