Jayshree Vasani

Jayshree Vasani is a GOC registered Dispensing Optician with a passion for improving the accessibility of eyecare services, particularly for individuals with visual impairments and those from diverse backgrounds. Jayshree co-founded the BAMEVISION GROUP, her aim is to raise awareness about the importance of eyecare for all, including underserved communities such as the BAME diaspora, individuals with learning disabilities, and those with sensory impairments. Through CPD (Continuous Professional Development) accredited presentations, Jay was pivotal in delivering the award-winning ‘Seeing Beyond the Eyes’ CPD roadshow, in collaboration with visually impaired entrepreneur Daniel Williams, across 60 locations across the UK and training over 7000 eyecare professionals, highlighting early intervention strategies, in a patient’s eyecare journey. Currently she holds the post of Co-CPD Lead for the East London and City Local Optical Committee and has taken the role of Secretary for UKISOP (UK & Ireland Society of Ophthalmic Professionals) from 2025, aligning her focus on multidisciplinary CPD. As a former RNIB Eye Care Liaison Officer (ECLO), she played a key role in providing practical and emotional supporting to patients in the Ophthalmology department in the Whittington Hospital in North London, UK. Her current role as RNIB Partnerships and Development Manager (London and Southeast) for the Eye Care Support Pathway (ECSP) project involves engaging with ICBs and all stakeholders on embedding non-clinical support and advice, for any patient on their eye care journey for better patient outcomes.
