Dr Sarah Jarvis MBE
General Practitioner (GP) and Fellow of the Royal College of General Practitioners (RCGP)
After training at Cambridge and Oxford Universities, Sarah became a partner in an inner-city London general practice in 1990. She was a GP trainer for 25 years and has been an active medical broadcaster for the BBC for over 25 years, with regular shows on BBC Radio 2, BBC One, ITV and Channel 5.
She has a particular interest in cardiometabolic disease and is the author of several books for the lay public, including Diabetes for Dummies.
In December 2017, Sarah was appointed an MBE (Member of the Order of the British Empire) in the New Year’s Honours list for services to public understanding of health and general practice. In February 2021 she was appointed Visiting Professor of General Practice at the University of Huddersfield.
