BRITISH DIABETIC ASSOCIATION (THE)
Bridget is Involvement Manager at Diabetes UK and leads on the User Involvement work for the NHS Diabetes Programme, a partnership between NHS England and Diabetes UK. The role of the involvement team is to ensure that the voices of people living with Diabetes, as well as those at risk of Type 2 are heard, and used to help to shape the NHS Diabetes Programme for the future. She has worked for 20 years in healthcare research and involvement, previously working as Director of Health Experiences for Picker, a not-for-profit healthcare research organisation dedicated to making patients' views count in healthcare, where she focussed in particular on gaining feedback from lesser heard groups about their healthcare experiences. She has a passion for user involvement and ensuring that patients and service users are involved in their healthcare in a meaningful way, working in partnership with healthcare professionals to bring about real change.
