Anne Phillips is a Queens Nurse and a National Teaching Fellow with the Higher Education Academy. After a career in specialist and community diabetes nursing, Anne works with colleagues at Birmingham City University and has established a countrywide and international collaborative curriculum for Health Professionals in Diabetes Care. Her career has always focussed on innovative, accessible, individualised diabetes education to be the catalyst to improve individualised care for every person with diabetes across their lifespan. Anne also works as Research Consultant in the local teaching hospitals. Anne has published 122 peer reviewed articles and edited ‘Principles of Diabetes Care" which was published in 2017 in its 2nd edition. She has been an editorial member for the European Medical Journal Diabetes Series and UK Practice Nursing Journals to enable outreach of diabetes education to practice colleagues.
