Prof Andrew Farmer

Andrew Farmer is a Professor of General Practice at the Nuffield Department of Primary Care Health Sciences, University of Oxford. He works as an associate general practitioner at South Oxford Health Centre and is a Research Associate of the Oxford Diabetes Trials Unit. His research is focused on developing and testing digital-health tools and other changes in clinical care pathways to support better self-management and deliver improved health and wellbeing for people with diabetes and other long-term conditions. He was the founding Clinical Director of the NIHR Thames Valley Diabetes Clinical Research Network and also the founding Director of the Oxford Primary Care Clinical Trials Unit. He has chaired a number of research funding committees including in his current role as a Committee Chair in the UK NIHR Health Technology Assessment Programme.
