Researcher and Trainer in Public Health,
My fascination with nutrition and its impact on health began in 2010 when I self-educated myself around the basics to aid in my own weight loss journey, totalling 6 ½ stone loss in excess weight. After experiencing the ‘feel good’ sensation that came with achieving my health related goal I knew I wanted to pursue a career based on helping others achieve their goals.
I studied Nutrition, Health & Lifestyles (BSc) at Sheffield Hallam University. Whilst undertaking my undergraduate degree I specialised more in performance nutrition, working with a gym, several individual personal trainers and directly with athletes. This work led me into my postgraduate degree in Sport & Exercise Nutrition (MSc) at Loughborough University. Whilst completing my MSc I carried on applied work, primarily in cricket and football.
Whilst performance nutrition is clearly an area of interest, my passion still remained in public health and helping others achieve their goals. I am currently working in the ongoing expansion of X-PERT Diabetes through digital healthcare in addition to training future educators delivering the group programmes. I regularly work directly with patients, primarily in diabetes and weight management. Lastly I have taken the lead in the development of our new programme, X-PERT Weight.
