Kev Winchcombe is cyclist, blogger, traveller, fundraiser and most of all a proud Diabetes Dad to Amy. He is a founding member of t1resources.uk and Sugarbuddies peer support in Hampshire. In January 2015 Kev was one of the first in the UK to build a DIY device (xDrip) to read Amy’s CGM data and send it to the Cloud. This started an involvement in Nightscout and the WeAreNotWaiting movement, which he has presented about many times, to charities, parents, HCPs, and at conferences, with the sole aim to bring awareness and understanding. In late 2016 he purchased the kit required to build a DIY closed loop system, in case Amy ever decided she wanted to ‘loop’.
