Swansea University Medical School

I have been a researcher in diabetic retinopathy for over 10 years and completed a PhD on the epidemiology of diabetic retinopathy and an assessment of optimal screening intervals. My current research areas include: the use of retinal images for the detection of other conditions such as cardiovascular disease, and improving screening programmes for diabetic retinopathy. I have also been involved in the development of diabetic retinopathy screening programmes in Mauritius and Trinidad. Prior to starting my research career I work for Diabetic Eye Screening Wales as a retinopathy grader trained by Prof David Owens.
