Dr Kenneth Robertson
Greater Glasgow & Clyde
Dr Robertson was a consultant paediatrician in Glasgow for 25 years and retired last month. During his tenure the diabetes service he oversaw grew from 200 to 820 patients – the largest children’s service in the UK. He has long been interested in using data to drive care and held several roles in Informatics including chair of the BMA IT Committee, Chair of the National Programme for Information Technology Clinical Data Standards Board and Lead Clinician in eHealth for the Scottish Government. As a diabetes clinician he is excited about the progress in supportive technologies but distressed at the escalating data burden on staff and patients.
