Chris Cheyette BSc (Hons) MSc RD is a Senior Dietitian at Kings College Hospital, London. He has published a number of articles in academic journals on weight management and diabetes. He is also the co-founder of the award-winning Carbs & Cals range of books and apps.
Chris qualified as a dietitian in 2000, and has been a Diabetes Specialist Dietitian for the NHS since 2003, working with a wide range of patients with type 1, type 2 and gestational diabetes. He has worked on producing a range of educational resources over the years. He won the 2007 British Dietetic Association Elizabeth Washington Award for his DVD aimed at young people with diabetes.
In 2009, he founded Chello Publishing Limited with photographer and designer Yello Balolia, to publish their bestselling book Carbs & Cals. The range won the Quality in Care Award 2014 for Best Dietary Initiative, the Dame Barbara Clayton Award for Innovation and Excellence in 2011, New Product of the Year at the Complete Nutrition Awards 2012, and the 2019 BDA Elizabeth Washington Award for the best published educational resource.
Carbs & Cals has expanded to include an app, flashcards and teaching materials; now in its 6th edition, it has remained the bestselling carbohydrate and calorie counting title. It has been published in, Portugal, Netherlands and Germany. Chris has published a further 8 books in the UK; Gestational Diabetes, Very Low Calorie Diet Plans, Soups, Salads, Smoothies, 5:2 Diet, World Foods and Carbs & Cals Pocket Counter.
