Hypo research at JDRF

Hypoglycaemia, or hypos, can be frightening and dangerous experiences for people living with type 1 diabetes, particularly when coupled with an impaired awareness of hypoglycaemia. This session will cover JDRF’s strategic approach for research into hypos, and a few projects currently active in the UK.

Learning outcomes:

  • Understand JDRF’s strategy regarding hypo research
  • Understand how a talking therapy programme could help to people to manage hypo unawareness (project 1)
  • Understand how exercise could help to improve the body’s responses to hypos (project 2)
