NHS England Clinical Directors present opening keynote at DPC2018
Diabetes Professional Care (DPC) welcomed back two NHS England Diabetes clinical directors for DPC2018’s opening keynote presentation, which took place on World Diabetes Day.
The keynote, ‘An update from NHS England Diabetes’, was presented by Dr Partha Kar, diabetes consultant and Associate National Clinical Director, Diabetes, NHS England, and Professor Jonathan Valabhji, National Clinical Director for Obesity and Diabetes, NHS England.
Together, they looked back at the various strands of work completed by NHS England in diabetes over the last year, including the NHS Diabetes Prevention Programme and digital health initiatives.
Dr Kar discussed strategies for the future, including plans to develop the role of pharmacists, dieticians, DSNs in diabetes care, ambulance guidelines, gestational diabetes care, and the development of type 2 diabetes guidelines in partnership with NICE.
Healthcare professionals (HCPs) who were unable to attend this keynote session can access the presentation video via the DPC website.
DPC2019 will take place on 29 & 30 October at Olympia, London. To register your interest in DPC2019 and keep up to date with the latest announcements for next year, click here.
