Innovation comes to The Edge

DPC2017’s innovation zone, The Edge, was packed out over the two days, as visitors thronged to the area to see the latest tech-based diabetes healthcare solutions.

“This is our area dedicated to the most innovative start-up companies in diabetes,” said Toby Baker, Event Director, DPC. “We wanted to make sure that, alongside more established companies in diabetes care, there was the opportunity for smaller companies to be here as well. Every year, exhibitors in The Edge move to a full-sized exhibition stand the next year, so it must be working for them.”

Start-up companies exhibiting at DPC2017 included TickleFLEX, showing its insulin injection aid, aimed at making self-injection a safer, more comfortable and worry-free process.

“It’s been very well received, people appreciate it’s so simple,” said TickleFLEX’s designer, Peter Bailey. “I always wanted to make a difference. If we can get a million of these out into the market, that’s a lot less needle phobia and a lot fewer ouches. I’m very proud to be part of that.”
