Foot and Wound Clinic launches

In response to feedback from visitors and industry partners, a dedicated Foot & Wound Clinic was introduced at DPC2017.

This popular area included a series of workshops, aimed at healthcare professionals with varying levels of experience and specialism. All sessions were delivered by expert practitioners from the Solent NHS Trust and focused on sharing practical skills and take-away learning, to help patients look after their feet and lower limbs.

“The clinic attracted professionals from every aspect, including a lot from primary care,” said Graham Bowen, Clinical Lead for Podiatry, Solent NHS Trust. “We’re looking to get as much information out to as many people as possible so they can educate and inform patients.

“Diabetic foot ulcer is as serious as cancer if you find a lump because the outcome at five years is 50% mortality if you have diabetic foot disease and/or an amputation.”
