Enhanced Product Platform programme returns to DPC2019
Diabetes Professional Care will see the return of practical Product Platform sessions to the 2019 conference programme in October.
82% of surveyed DPC2018 visitors told us they would like to attend training and information sessions surrounding specific products at DPC2019.
The two-day Product Platform programme will feature a series of interactive product demonstrations and latest research updates presented by leading organisations from the diabetes arena.
Healthcare professionals will have a unique opportunity to find out about new and existing diabetes products and services, and be the first to hear about the latest innovations during informal workshop-style sessions.
This year, organisers have created two categories of Product Platform sessions – Tech in Practice and Prescribing in Practice – which will take place in the workshop theatres during break times. So, look out for the icons below to help you identify the session type.
Tech in Practice Product Platforms will feature practical sessions about the tech and digital health solutions available to improve outcomes and the day-to-day lives of people living with diabetes, and its related conditions.
Sessions will feature a range of solutions including Digital Health, blood glucose monitoring, diagnostics, insulin pumps, CGM, solutions for the prevention of diabetes and related conditions, education programmes and lifestyle intervention initiatives.
With the increased prevalence of diabetes and a rise in the number of items prescribed for diabetes, the cost of treating diabetes has risen by £421.7 million since 2007/08, says NHS Digital.
So, the Prescribing in Practice stream will feature sessions about the most effective treatment options, based on people’s individual needs. Our expert speakers will also help attendees to make an informed decision about cost-savings.
This programme will include sessions for decision makers and prescribers from Primary, Community and Secondary care, including GLP-1 medication, types of insulins, research studies, identification and prevention of co-morbidities associated with diabetes (such as eye, cardiovascular etc), and alternative treatment options.
Presentations will be held by a number of expert organisations in diabetes care. These include:
- Novo Nordisk UK
- Takeda UK Ltd
- Insulet International
- BD Diabetes Care
- Owen Mumford
- Scope Ophthalmics
