What does the company do?

Urgo Medical is a global wound care company offering a range of innovative dressings, compression bandages and hosiery. Our focus is on working in partnership with healthcare professionals to help move from managing wounds to healing wounds.

The UrgoStart Treatment Range is recommended by NICE for use on Diabetic Foot Ulcers and Venous Leg Ulcers, as it demonstrates increased healing for patients and significant cost savings to the NHS.

We believe strongly in evidence based care, and pride ourselves on our products having the highest level of clinical evidence available to support their usage.

To help deliver improved patient outcomes and reduced healing time, we offer market-leading education and support through our experienced clinical team and dedicated diabetes team.

Our brands include UrgoStart Plus, UrgoKTwo, UrgoClean Ag and UrgoTul Absorb Border.

How can Diabetes Professional Care help with your brand?

Diabetes Professional Care is one of the highlights in Urgo Medical’s calendar. It is an opportunity for us to raise the awareness among healthcare professionals involved with the care of people living with diabetes about the importance of foot health.

It also offers us a chance to network with some of our customers and showcase our innovative solutions we offer for people suffering from diabetes-related foot ulcers.

DPC is an opportunity for us to educate healthcare professionals on our innovative treatment, UrgoStart Plus, which reduces healing time for people suffering from diabetes-related foot ulcers. People such as Tim, who was treated with UrgoStart, described it as making a “massive difference to my quality of life”. Keeping fit and healthy is important to Tim, and he can now be active, and get back to walking his Husky, Sika. We want to continue to give patients their quality of life back sooner and relieve healthcare professionals from the burden of these wounds.

Quote from your Brand Manager

“At Urgo Medical we believe strongly in evidence-based care and pride ourselves on our products having the highest level of clinical evidence available. UrgoStart Plus is the latest addition to our portfolio of innovative solutions, and earlier this year the whole UrgoStart Treatment Range was recommended by the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) for the treatment of diabetic foot ulcers and venous leg ulcers. This recommendation came following a comprehensive review of ground-breaking clinical studies in addition to expert opinion and advice.

“Using UrgoStart treatment range instead of a non-interactive dressing closes 60% more wounds, which has a huge positive impact on the person’s quality of life, NHS resources and the local health economy. NICE’s recommendation means that thousands more people could benefit from this unique treatment.

“This decision by NICE endorses our commitment to developing evidence-based treatments and it is a real break-through for patients. UrgoStart treatment is the first wound care product to be recommended for the treatment of diabetic foot ulcers and venous leg ulcers. UrgoStart is an interactive dressing and should be used in conjunction with the standard of care for these patients. UrgoStart treatment range is the only local treatment proven to reduce healing time through the highest level of clinical evidence. It has also been demonstrated that the sooner UrgoStart treatment is initiated the better the healing outcomes for the patient.

“We look forward to meeting with those attending DPC and finding out how we can help them relieve them from the burden of wounds in their clinical practice. Those attending DPC can find out more about why NICE recommends UrgoStart Treatment Range and what this means for patients, clinicians and the healthcare economy at our product platform sessions and of course from our team manning the stand! Please come by and say hello, we’d love to see you!”
