Enhance-d - The T1D Sports Club and app

21 Oct 2025
Theatre C

Exercise is one of the most powerful tools for improving both physical and mental health in people living with Type 1 diabetes (T1D), yet it remains one of the most feared and complex aspects of daily management. Enhance-d brings together two complementary approaches to support this challenge: a global community – The T1D Sports Club – and a data-driven digital platform – the Enhance-d App.

This session will explore how the combination of peer support, lived experience, and technology can empower people with T1D to participate in sport and everyday activity with confidence. We will highlight:

The common barriers to exercise for people with T1D, including fear of hypoglycaemia and lack of practical guidance.

How healthcare professionals can use the Enhance-d App and Club as tools to encourage safe participation in activity.

Real-world examples of how community support and shared data insights can build confidence, reduce anxiety, and foster sustainable exercise habits.

Opportunities for HCPs to integrate digital tools and community-led initiatives into routine care, complementing clinical practice with lived experience.

Delegates will leave with practical strategies and resources to recommend to their patients, helping them move beyond the fear of exercise and towards a thriving, active life with diabetes.

  • By the end of this session, delegates will be able to:
  • Describe the main barriers people with Type 1 diabetes face when engaging in exercise and physical activity.
  • Recognise how community-led initiatives, such as the Enhance-d Club, can complement clinical support.
  • Understand how the Enhance-d App provides actionable insights to support safe and confident participation in sport and daily activity.
  • Identify practical ways to signpost patients towards peer support and digital tools to improve exercise engagement.
  • Apply strategies to empower people living with T1D to overcome fear of hypoglycaemia and integrate exercise as part of a thriving lifestyle.
