Pregnancy and Diabetes - The journey from pre-conception to birth and post natal care
This session will focus on the considerable variation of care for women with diabetes during pregnancy. With one in 10 pregnant women developing diabetes by the age of 30 (the incidence having doubled during 1996-2010), many women with diabetes are not adequately prepared for pregnancy. Management of glucose control during antenatal steroid administration and delivery remains challenging and this session will explore the reasons why a consistent sand safe approach is needed.
