DPC Cardiovascular Clinic
People with diabetes are more likely to develop heart disease than those without the condition. They have a greater risk of heart attack or stroke, which are the most common causes of death in adults with diabetes.
This clinic aims to give non-specialist healthcare professionals the opportunity to develop their understanding of the CV-diabetes relationship, with guidance on how to identify and refer at-risk patients, and provide the best patient care in their own role and healthcare setting.
Sessions will cover the latest research developments, pharmacological treatment options, and aspects that relate to diabetes patients and their prescribed medications.
Aimed at HCPs from primary, community, specialist and secondary care, the clinic will highlight practical advice and examples of best practice in the joint working of multi-disciplinary teams around the UK
Speakers will include cardiovascular specialist consultants and nurses, primary and community care HCPs, and diabetes specialist HCPs.
