Bostin tips for in-patient diabetes in Birmingham

16 Nov 2022
NHS Park

The Diabetes Service at University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust is one of the largest in the country providing inpatient specialist support to approximately 2,300 beds and out-patient care over four hospital sites.

With an inpatient diabetes prevalence of 20-25% we want to ensure that we provide excellent care but, unfortunately, sometimes we do not always achieve this.

This session will focus on some of the strategies or ‘tips’ that we have implemented including, clinical, technology, and educational strategies to reduce risk and optimise care.

By the end of session we hope that you will have at least one idea that you can take back to your own clinical area. We also hope that the session is interactive and you will be able to share with us your successful tips so that we can take something back too.

Speakers
Lesley Peters, CNS in Diabetes and Lead for Education - University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust
Theresa Smyth, Nurse Consultant in Diabetes - University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust
