How chronic kidney disease influences the management of diabetes (control, monitoring and treatment used)
In this presentation we will be reviewing the challenge that the diabetes community faces in relation to the projected dramatic increase in the number of people with diabetes who develop cardiac and renal complications. The presentation will focus on both recognition and the standard management of kidney complications in the context of diabetes including recent changes in this management strategy which has come about in response to the data on the use of SGLT2Is. The presentation will also focus on how the presence of impaired kidney function influences the management of a person with diabetes and reviews the latest advice on how glycaemic control should be managed as GFR drops.
